NGOs in Germany

Last month I was able to travel around Germany to meet awesome German NGOs all around the country.

They are hardly working on magnificent projects in Sierra Leone.

It is so important for myself and also for the other Actives to connect and share our ideas and visions to help the beautiful people of Sierra Leone.

My journey started in Aschaffenburg near Frankfurt, where I met OneDay e.V. .
This NGO helps in Namibia, Kenia and Salone with humanitary projects.
In Salone they are concentrated on two Projects HOPE and KALIA .
They help young woman who are victims of sexual violence:
in new shelters they are able to give this young womans and also their babys a safe            and peaceful place.
Beside that OneDay is very connected with the organsitation commit and act
During my visit in Aschaffenburg, Hannah Bockarie one of the main faces of commit
and act was also in town. So we have been able to connect and plan my visit in the            end of the year in Salone -> Construction work incoming!!
The whole team of OneDay is a group of very powerful and awesome young people            and I am very happy that they are also spending their free time to help Africa and              especially Mama Salone.

My next stop has been the NGO forikolo e.V.  in Leipzig.
Forikolo has been building schools since 2003 in the northern area of Freetown.
I was able to meet one of their visonary and big supporter Otto.
We talked about the last projects, the structure of their NGO and also about new
projects. There are big plans to develope a better concept for the school buildings as   well as educataional concepts. We also planned a possible visit of myself to one of the   running construction sites.  Otto is a very inspirational and powerful human.

During y journey from one NGO to the other I got mor and mor in contact with the German Organisations. And there are many many more on the list to visit and connect
But the last I will introduce is very special:

Bonthe Youth Resource Center is a NGO based in Hamburg, my birthtown, and like the name says helping in BONTHE, my Dads and my family home!
One top of that fact BYRC built and is still devoloping an Apprenticeship-Center!
THIS is also one of my biggest dream: to build a room where young Sisters and Bothers can experience themself with hand crafted and technical work!
I was able to get a glimpse of their work during a presentation about the last visit of Lutz and Britta in April this year.  We are also in contact and I am also planning to visit Bonthe during my stay in Salone.

All in all I am full of HOPE LOVE and POWER after this awesome visits, talks and meetings!

Thank you all who invited and supported me during this little NGO journey.
Stay tuned…

Because of the election and government work of Nyanga in Salone, I stayed in Germany during the Day of Independance 27th of April.

And it was the best!

Maybe the day of my year!!

I met several awesome other NGOs who work hard and help Salone to become a strong independant country!

We celebrated the whole day at he embassy in Berlin.

We danced, had amazing food and enjoyed the moment with beautiful people from Germany, Salone and other parts of the world!

Election Update

The Sierra Leone Peoples Party won.

What does that mean?

For the country?
For my family?
For TuckerRoots?

I will explain to you.
Basically a new president is a new president with a new parliament and new ministers. But Julius Bio is a family member of the Tuckers.

And this is a game changer.
I can’t predict what will happen in Salone the next 5 years but I can say that:
two of my cousins will work in the new government as ministers!
One of them is Nyanga!
Nyanga will be the new minister of finance!!

Because of that I didn’t visit Nyanga and Salone in the end of April, because she was hardly involved building the new government.
AND now she will serve for Salone!!

I am overwhelmed with these News and I look forward toget into the politics of Salone.
What a great opportunity to understand how this country really works.

Nyanga and Piage I wish you much love and mental power to work for this beautiful country!

My Company

businesscard_typewriters_front_lay_2I am Jeremiah.
I was born in the middle of the 90s in Hamburg, Germany.
My mother is also a Hanseatic and my father is from Sierra Leone, West Africa.

I grew up in Schleswig Holstein and found my passion in water sports.
I am a life guard, surfer, sailer and Triathlet.

After my graduation (A Levels 1,7) I made/had/took an apprenticeship as a carpenter and learned how to build with wood and concrete. ->

During the years I loved to show my family and friends what I am doing (sports and traveling) and what I am building.

It all started with shared dropbox folders.

Since one year I am using Instagram as a personal life feed.
And I really love it.

It is an intuitiv and easy way to stay in touch and to show your beloved what you are actually doing and to „schwelgen“ in memories.

Beside my work and living in Germany I am on my way too explore my other root: Sierra Leone.
Since January I am working and developing a family based development cooperation.

My dream is to build a NGO (Non Governmental Organisation), which is building and renovating houses and places in Sierra Leone.  ->

In my company media Typewriters I work as the founder, manager, designer and salesman.

I love d´the direct contact to people and therefore I am traveling a lot and meet clients, friends an my family all over the world.

I am looking forward to work with YOU!

Hang loose,

yours Jeremiah (Jerry)

wonderful Berlin

I have awesome news!

On Saturday I travelled to Berlin to visit some friends and the Salonean embassy!

I met my uncle David, who is the head of chansery and we talked about my plans and life!

After our meeting I was also able to meet one secretary of the Embassy who is accepting the VISA. We had a friendly contact and when my German passport is ready I am just one trip away of my 1 year VISA for Sierra Leone!!!

But hold on this is not everything!

My cousin Nyanga, whi invited me to come to Salone in May, also invited me to Abidjan ´,Ivory Coast, where she is working at the moment.
And because I am in Berlin I also visited the Embassy of Ivory coast.
And also the VISA for Ivory coast is just a trip away!

So now I am searching for good flights, wish me luck!

And stay tuned,

this year is going to be awesome!!
